Medical Director and Associate Dean for Clinical Simulation
The Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Penn State College of Medicine is recruiting for the role of Medical Director and Associate Dean for Clinical Simulation.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Medical Director and Associate Dean for Clinical Simulation has a strong background in relevant education theory and simulation best practices. This position provides senior strategic oversight for the Program and serves as a resource for the simulation center team. The position interfaces with the administrative director of the Simulation Center, along with other senior leadership in Penn State Health, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and the College of Medicine. In conjunction with the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs and the CMO of the Penn State Health System, the Medical Director and Associate Dean for Clinical Simulation will provide the vision for the future development and structure of Clinical Simulation Center within the academic health system. In collaboration with the simulation center leadership team, this individual lead complex decision-making activities that go beyond the normal operational practices of the Program.
Guidance in the execution of this role includes but is not limited to the following: instruction, assessment, research, system integration, outreach and extension, and administration. Of particular importance in this role is in the outreach and extension, re-accreditation, and research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
MD, DO, or credentialed licensed provider.
Must be board certified and currently possess a license to practice in State of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Certification from the Society of Simulation for Healthcare as a Certified Educator.
Graduate of clinical simulation fellowship program.
Experience working in a clinical simulation environment.
