The Associate Chief of Staff for Community Care serves as the senior leader of Community Care at VASDHS. This position demonstrates leadership in delivering quality, cost-effective care through partnerships with VHA and Community Care providers. Establishes and consistently works to improve relationships with Veterans, VA providers/staff and community providers. Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of the situation and scope as it relates to Community Care services, strategies and goals. Identify process and/or procedural gaps and inefficiencies and implement changes to improve the processes and develop standard work to ensure consistency. Collaborate with existing Community Care partners and expand/develop new health care partners to meet Veterans care in a timely manner, as outlined in VHA guidelines. Possess intimate knowledge of Community Care Federal Regulations, VHA guidelines, medical review criteria, utilization management processes, clinical documentation requirements, current standards of care, and compliance guideline. Provide oversight to the Community Care staff and is administratively and clinically responsible for the Community Care Service. Participate in facility-wide, VISN and national workgroups, committees and councils.
