Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Department Chair of Palliative and Supportive Care within the Taussig Cancer Institute. This newly established, interdisciplinary department includes the divisions of Palliative Care, Psychosocial Oncology, and Supportive Patient Services.
The Palliative Care Program at Cleveland Clinic has demonstrated a commitment to increasing access to high quality Palliative Care by expanding services within a variety of settings including inpatient consultation, outpatient clinic, community-based palliative care, and GIP and home-based hospice care. The ideal candidate will be interested in 1. Leading ongoing expansion and development of Cleveland Clinic’s Palliative Care programs in multiple settings, and 2. Supporting the integration and development of the Psychosocial Oncology and Supportive Patient Services divisions. A commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration, outstanding communication skills, and an interest in medical and graduate education are essential. The position is open to experienced candidates who are Board Certified in Palliative Medicine and Hospice and eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.
We are searching for a physician leader, in every sense of the word, to carry the Department of Palliative and Supportive Care into the future. The ideal candidate should be an excellent clinician with an established track record of academic productivity. Experience and skills with operations and finance are also sought. An ability to work within an integrated, multi-specialty environment is essential. A keen interest in the study of leadership is preferred. The successful candidate will be eligible for both faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
The position is open to experienced candidates who are Board Certified in Palliative Medicine and Hospice and eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.
