Site Medical Director - UI Health Mile Square ( L.P. Johnson Family Health Center)
Mile Square Health Center is hiring a full time Site Medical Director to join our patient care team in our UI Health L.P. Johnson Family Health Center located in Rockford, IL.
The Site Medical Director (SMD), under the administrative direction of the CMO, provides oversight and direction of the daily operations at our primary care clinic. The SMD directly supervises the Clinic Providers. Assures a safe and best practice operation of the care delivery processes. Identifies opportunities for enhanced efficiencies in delivery of care, productivity, performance improvement and standardization of processes. This individual also works as a patient care provider evaluating and treating patients. The Site Medical Director has a collaborative leadership relationship with the family medicine residency program director who leads the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford Family Medicine Residency along with the Head of Family Medicine. The SMD is a physician leader with a proven track record of innovation, achievement of measurable goals, and exceptional clinical competencies.
Oversight of provider attendance, compliance responsibilities and provider professionalism at the site. Assure individual provider quality of care in collaboration with the College of Medicine.
Provide leadership and site championship in the monitoring and evaluation of site clinical quality, research, community engagement, care coordination activities and any external accreditation.
Develop and meet productivity expectations. Must be adept at financial and metric interpretation for clinic and work with operations to develop plans for improving site financial performance and patient satisfaction.
Must perform reviews on all providers at site.
Execute quality improvement initiatives; manage quality metrics for the site and create plans to improve measures as requested.
Support a team-based model of care and function as a leader in the training and implementation of such model, including provider on-boarding.
Manage provider time off to ensure consistent clinical coverage at designated site.
Manage all organizational deadlines for learning modules, competency and clinical requirements, e.g. license, flu shots, CME, infection control.
Attend all required meetings as assigned.
Adhere to all approved MSHC/UIC policies and protocols regarding patient care standards.
Examine patient and obtain medical history from patient, parents, guardians to prepare patient profile. Review developmental and medical history of patient.
Participate in diagnostic staffing to correlate findings, determine diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment recommendations.
Discuss findings and recommendations with client, parents, agencies, etc. as needed.
Responsible for medication management (includes but is not limited to writing prescriptions, monitoring efficacy, monitoring adverse reactions).
Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
MD or DO degree or its foreign equivalent.
Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine.
Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine or Illinois license eligible. Previous Site Medical Director Experience highly preferred.
MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date. Coursework in Healthcare Leadership, Quality and Utilization Management is highly preferable.
