Seeking A Talented General Cardiologist Physician to Join the Section of Cardiology in Tacoma, Washington.
The Veterans Health Care System, Puget Sound and the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington are actively recruiting to fill Board Certified Staff physician in General Cardiology (BE considered) to help care for our Veterans – American’s Heroes. Selected candidate must qualify for a faculty appointment at University of Washington & be involved with teaching of Cardiology fellows in our accredited fellowship program along with medical students, medicine residents & other learners and providers. The selected candidate will report to the Chief, Section of Cardiology. The Veterans Health Care System, Puget Sound (VHAPUG), located in Seattle Washington, with a sub-division at the American Lake Division Tacoma, WA. is part of VA Northwest (VISN20), comprised two main Medical Centers and thirteen community clinics, spread out the great state of Washington. The American Lake Division is one of the largest VA Medical Centers for out-patient medical care, and new state of the art community living center for Veterans.
You are invited to consider joining the team of the American Laker VA Medical Center and University of Washington of Medicine, providing care for the world’s best patients while providing training and mentorship for fellows, residents, and students. You should be board certified/eligible in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology and a US citizen with current US licensure (any state) with no history of revocations or suspension. Permanent Residents may be considered if no US citizen is selected.
As a care giver and clinician educator, you should have outstanding general cardiology skills combined with a passion for teaching and scholarship. Previous post-training academic experience and a history of publication in peer-reviewed cardiology journals is preferred. This position includes both inpatient and outpatient activity and the opportunity to teach learners at all levels (students, residents, and fellows). You will spend most of your time in direct patient care and the supervision of medical residents and cardiology fellows in inpatient/outpatient settings and the Cath lab. At least two to five years of experience is preferred.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).
Must be U.S. Citizen – Non-US Citizens may be considered
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Board Certification in Cardiology preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. Board certification in Internal Medicine is also preferred.
