You are invited to consider joining the rehab team at the Manchester VA Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse interdisciplinary pain team providing evidenced based care with fluid program development; the team is interdepartmental and collaborative, lending support and direction to patients that suffer from chronic pain. In this position you will also have the opportunity to work with Manchester VA's highly skilled amputee clinic team providing cutting edge prosthetics to our Veterans and advancing clinical opportunities for patient care and convenience with the use of Telehealth Technology (Clinical Video Telehealth).
In this role, you will provide outpatient musculoskeletal and neuromuscular examinations, treatment recommendations, and performance of peripheral joint, epidural, and trigger point injections. You will determine the diagnoses, initiate treatments that emphasize restoration of function, prescribing and oversee comprehensive therapy treatments, and make appropriate referrals to surgical, medicine, and behavioral health specialties for co-treatment and diagnoses of neuromuscular, neurologic, musculoskeletal, and suspected mental health disorders. You’ll team with rehab therapists, pain care providers and other health care providers in assigned treatment teams to establish a comprehensive and integrated rehabilitation program for the Veteran. Your work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with option for a Compressed Schedule.
Extensive mastery of the treatment principles applied for diagnosis in orthopedics and neurology, chronic pain, spinal cord injury, rheumatology, amputation and diseases specific to the geriatric population.
Prescribing therapeutic exercise, other rehabilitation modalities, and alternative medicine options, such as acupuncture, chiropractic manipulations, low power laser therapy, etc.
Providing consultations and recommendations for primary care physicians on pain medication management.
Determining indication for peripheral joint, epidural, trigger point, and botulinum injections.
Performing intra-articular, epidural, trigger point, and botulinum injections, as well as peripheral nerve blocks using ultrasound and/or fluoroscopic guided technology, and other interventional procedures as qualified and applicable.
Participating in interdisciplinary clinics such as amputee, orthotics, spinal cord injury, pain and functional restoration clinics.
Participating in professional competency activities and maintaining professional requirements for continuing education.
US citizenship – no-citizens may be considered if no US citizen can be placed.
Unrestricted US license (any state) with no history of revocation or suspension.
Completion of residency in PM&R
Completion of a Pain Fellowship Training Program
Board Certification in Pain Management
Experience in performing NCS/EMG
