PRIMARY CARE SPORTS MEDICINE OPPORTUNITY
Opening in San Diego, California
Our department of Orthopedics in San Diego has an opening for a primary care sports medicine physician in its El Cajon location. This full-time position is 100% musculoskeletal and covers sports medicine and general office orthopedics (no primary care panel). The physician will collaborate with a collegial network of nonoperative and surgical orthopedic physicians.
Key features of the position:
100% outpatient practice, seeing consults and follow-ups in an ambulatory setting.
There is no call, and there are no preoperative, postoperative or OR assisting responsibilities.
The workload is a blend of chronic/degenerative conditions, combined with sports medicine patients.
Ultrasound is on-site for relevant musculoskeletal procedures.
There are teaching opportunities for family medicine residents, surgical sports medicine fellows and more.
The physician will collaborate with trainers of local high schools and colleges to coordinate care of injured athletes.
There are abundant opportunities for academic development and intellectual growth.
Board-certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Fellowship-trained in an accredited primary care sports medicine program, eligible for a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine
Prior experience preferred but not mandatory
There should be enthusiastic willingness and interest to help build and refine a comprehensive sports and wellness service line
