Online Medical Content Developer – Remote, Part-time The Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF) is an affiliate institution of the American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA). The APSF's Mission is to improve continually the safety of patients during anesthesia care by encouraging and conducting: safety research and education; patient safety programs and campaigns; and national and international exchange of information and ideas. APSF is currently hiring a part-time, remote Online Medical Content Developer to work approximately 15-25 hours per week. Position Summary: The Online Medical Content Developer is responsible for developing current, useful, and engaging content for the APSF website. This position will require significant self-guided learning and research on general anesthesia topics and terminology, related organizations, and patient safety issues. Position Responsibilities: •Develop current, useful, and engaging content for the APSF website. •Solicit current information from APSF committee leaders and staff (i.e. newsletter, social media, grants, etc.) for the APSF website. •Collaborate with the APSF Social Media Specialist on website news, blog posts, and coordinated content/messaging. •Review and approve 3rd party articles for posting on social media and website. •Develop comprehensive online content resource sections, which may include the following: •Standards and Guidelines – Comparing and contrasting important anesthesia practice standards. •General Resources – A link library of safety bundles, checklists, safety reports, and related organizations and publications. •Initiatives – Links to related APSF articles, current recommendations, and 3rd party articles. •Partner with website vendors.

Position Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree and 3 years professional experience in a related field, which may include business, healthcare, IT, or similar field. •Background in medicine (clinician, researcher, writer) and/or anesthesia a plus. •Must be web and computer proficient with experience using content management systems (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Sitecore, etc.). •Superior research and writing / website content development skills required. •Basic HTML and CSS knowledge desired. •Position requires occasional travel and the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary. |
